Affirming Therapy for Black, Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC)

Being a person of color has its difficulties, challenges, joys, and wonderment. Our racial identity cannot be erased or unseen. It impacts the way people view us, perceive us, and react to us. This social construct plays an important role in how we have to navigate relationships, institutions, and systems around us.

If you find yourself here, finding a therapist of color is important to you. I am an Asian American, specifically a Chinese American, who is culturally sensitive and will examine systems of oppression with you.  I am here to support your whole self and all aspects of your identities.

We will unpack what your racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds mean for you, how to rebuild a healthier relationship, and ways to stay connected with your communities.

Do you struggle to feel connected to your cultural background?

Do you find yourself wanting to align your praxis to your values and find ways to take action?

Do you want to process the ancestral rage that shows up?

areas of focus

  • recognizing intergenerational trauma and how to break unhealthy generational patterns
  • navigating family and cultural conflicts
  • feeling “in-between” with various cultures
  • process anger, grief, and other “negative” emotions
  • attempting connection with all parts of you
  • understanding how micro- and macroaggressions impact you
  • setting boundaries to find inner peace
  • exploring your relationship to spirituality and ancestral practices
  • examining positionality and proximity to whiteness

If any of the above resonates with you, I invite you to learn more about me and my approach or you can reach out to me for a free consultation. I look forward to  supporting you on your journey!
